EquoIQ winter blanket 200 gr is further developed for an optimal fit and to give the horse as much freedom of movement as possible when the horse walks with a blanket. Our unique design features a frontal piece attached higher up at both sides of the shoulder blades and therefore reduces pressure on the chest area. The highly durable fabric can handle any rough play out in the field with friends. You can expect to use the rug for several years. A smooth inner liner will give minimal friction at movement.
Our green blankets are a few centimeters shorter at the front of the bow and fit better on the noblest horses. They also have a different recipe for the impregnation from the fabric factory which is still 5000mm but is more water resistant than the others.
The top line of the neck cover has straps along it to lift the rug up from the sensitive mane and create a tunnel for air to flow through. A common problem while using neck cover is that the horse´s mane can be damaged and will grow less due to chafing. This will minimize friction helping to ensure that the mane itself will not be damaged.
Our design is protected in many countries in the world through PRV, EUIPO and WIPO.

EquoIQ winter blanket 200 gr is made to last a long time and can be used for several seasons.
The EquoIQ turnout rugs are constantly being developed to provide a more ergonomic and comfortable solution for the horse to wear. They are made to fit all different types of horses.
It can be fitted individually to each horse thanks to the rows with 3D-rings at each side of the shoulders. This ensures EquoIQ rugs to have the optimal fit for a wide variety of horses.
Our rugs are more often being recommended by veterinary’s, osteopaths, masseurs and other people working with healthcare of horses thanks to the anatomical design and the great freedom of movement that the horse gets when using our blankets.
There are 7 cm between each D-ring which creates the ability to vary the shoulder circumference of the rug by 28 cm. The rugs are easy to put on and to take off with the quick fasteners placed at the sides. The open part below the fasteners ensures that the horse can move as freely as possible. Chafing and pressure are common problems for horses who wear rugs many hours a day, so we wanted to develop a rug that will provide the horse with as much freedom of movement as possible even when wearing a rug. The front part is then individually adapted to each horse depending on how narrow or wide the horse is in the bow. Total circumference to adjust around the bow is almost 30 cm, which is a lot.
Choosing the right size?
It is the length of the back that determines which size you should choose. Measure the length of your horse from the withers and back to the dock. The measuring tape should follow the horse’s back. That length is the correct size needed for your horse. If your horse have a different shape of the body you might need to take another size. For example: if the measuring tape measures 136 cm, you choose a blanket in size 135.
Guidelines to choose the correct size:
Size 75/85 is for mini shettis
Size 95/105 is for Shetland ponies
Size 115 is for B ponies
Size 125 is for C ponies
Size 135 is for D-pony or small horse
Size 145 is for horses up to 170 cm in height at the withers
Size 155 is for horses approx. 170-180 cm in height at the withers
Size 165 is for horses over 180 cm in height at the withers
Fit the blanket correctly:
It is really important that the rug is not fastened too tight, because it would limit the horse´s movements and can in some cases cause the fasteners or D-rings to break. Leave about a hand’s width between the frontpart of the rug and the chest when you fasten it. The rug should look a little loose when it is on the horse. It should not get too tight when the horse lowers its head. This ensures the best comfort for the horse. There is a bracket for the wither protector at all rugs.
How warm a blanket should I choose?
Horses are much more patient than us humans, although they are individual too.
In fact, overheating is a more common problem than being too cold. If you have a hard time choosing between two different rugs, go with the cooler version.
Environment and sustainability:
EquoIQ rugs are not only ergonomic and promote free movement for your horse. We care about the environment and want to be part of sustainable consumption. We have chosen not to use fleece in our products by two reasons: To minimize plastic particles shredding and to eliminate the risk of static electricity which often occurs when horses have their coats trimmed.
