The dream and plan to produce an ergonomic rug has existed for a long time: A rug that holds up for play and mischief in the paddock, which has high durability and quality and is comfortable for the horse to wear. There are many rugs over the years that have ended up in the sewing machine for optimization and adaptation. The laboratory work has been going on for a long time and there have been many thoughts. Many rugs are too big for our increasingly modern and slim sport horses. For a long time I thought about how the dream rug would be designed and for a long time I looked for a manufacturer. But it took until one day when I had ended up in hospital after a fall from my horse in which I broke my back. Fortunately, I sustained a fracture that just didn't damage the spinal cord and could be stabilized with screws and braces. It was only after this accident that I got my dream going. At home during the rehabilitation, I started sketching and measuring and testing and measuring several more times. Looked for manufacturers and checked for patents and trademark protection. It took several rounds of prototypes and many tweaks and small changes before the product was close enough to perfect to launch. There was a lot I didn't know, but I knew I wanted to do this now, not later.”
