EquoIQ 50 gr stable cover is made to be durable and used for several seasons. It is developed and designed to fit all types of horses, whether they are very noble or large and rough.
The EquoIQ turnout rugs are constantly being developed to provide a more ergonomic and comfortable solution for the horse to wear. They are made to fit all different types of horses.
It can be fitted individually to each horse thanks to the rows with 3D-rings at each side of the shoulders. This ensures EquoIQ rugs to have the optimal fit for a wide variety of horses.
Our rugs are more often being recommended by veterinary’s, osteopaths, masseurs and other people working with healthcare of horses thanks to the anatomical design and the great freedom of movement that the horse gets when using our blankets.
The cover can be individually adjusted thanks to the three D-rings with 7 cm intervals on each side of the horse. It is also easy to take off and on because the buckles on the bow part are located on the side. The front part is then individually adapted to each horse depending on how narrow or wide the horse is in the bow. Total circumference to adjust around the bow is almost 30 cm, which is a lot.
Choosing the right size:
To choose the right size blanket, measure the horse’s back from just in front of the withers to just above the root of the tail. The measuring tape should follow the horse’s back. Based on this measurement, you choose the size of the blanket. For example, if the measuring tape shows 136 cm, choose a size 135 rug.
To help you choose the right size, here are some guidelines:
Size 75/85 is for mini shettis
Size 95/105 is for Shetland ponies
Size 115 is for B ponies
Size 125 is for C ponies
Size 135 is for D-pony or small horse
Size 145 is for horses up to 165 cm in height at the withers
Size 155 is for horses approx. 165-175 cm in height at the withers
Size 165 is for horses over 180 cm in height at the withers
Fit the blanket correctly:
When fitting the cover, it is important not to tighten the front part too tightly, as this can restrict the horse’s freedom of movement and cause the D-rings to loosen. The blanket should look a little loose at the front of the chest when it is placed on the horse, then it fits correctly. It should not tighten when the horse lowers its head. All our blankets also have an attachment for wither protection.
How warm a blanket should I choose?
When it comes to choosing the right warmth for the blanket, it’s important to remember that horses are much more resilient than people. It is usually better to have a slightly cooler blanket than one that is too warm. If you have a hard time choosing between two different rugs, choose the one with less lining.
Environment and sustainability:
We at EquoIQ protect the environment and strive to be part of sustainable consumption. Therefore, we have actively chosen not to use fleece in our blankets to reduce the emissions of plastic particles. Fleece can also create static electricity, which can be uncomfortable for clipped horses as they move.
Care for your rug:
To take care of your duvet and extend its life, we recommend that you take care of it properly.
