EquoIQ warm stable blanket 400 gr with neck blanket is made to last a long time and be used over several seasons.
Our blankets are developed and designed to fit all types of horses. Regardless of whether it is narrow or wide in the shoulder, the blanket can be adapted to each horse.
The front can be adjusted up to 30 cm around the shoulder thanks to the three D-rings with 7 cm intervals on each side of the horse. The blanket is also easy to take on and off because the buckles of the shoulder part are located on the side. The front part is then individually adjusted to each horse depending on how narrow or wide the horse is in the shoulder.
Our rugs are more often being recommended by veterinary’s, osteopaths, masseurs and other people working with healthcare of horses thanks to the anatomical design and the great freedom of movement that the horse gets when using our blankets.
Choosing the right size?
It is the length of the back that determines which size you should choose. Measure the length of your horse from the withers and back to the dock. The measuring tape should follow the horse’s back. That length is the correct size needed for your horse. If your horse have a different shape of the body you might need to take another size. For example: if the measuring tape measures 136 cm, you choose a blanket in size 135.
Guidelines to choose the correct size:
Size 75/85 is for mini shettis
Size 95/105 is for Shetland ponies
Size 115 is for B ponies
Size 125 is for C ponies
Size 135 is for D-pony or small horse
Size 145 is for horses up to 170 cm in height at the withers
Size 155 is for horses approx. 170-180 cm in height at the withers
Size 165 is for horses over 180 cm in height at the withers
Fit the blanket correctly:
It is important that the blanket is not tightened too tightly, as this can cause unnecessary pressure on the withers. Leave about a hand’s width between the blanket and the chest when tightening it. The blanket should look a little loose when it has been put on. It should just start to tighten tightly when the horse lowers its head. The cross-girths need to be tightened so that there is a hand’s width left.
There is a fitting for a withers protector on all of our blankets.
How warm a blanket should I choose?
Horses are much more patient than us humans, although they are individual too.
In fact, overheating is a more common problem than being too cold. If you have a hard time choosing between two different rugs, go with the cooler version.
Environment and sustainability:
EquoIQ rugs are not only ergonomic and promote free movement for your horse. We care about the environment and want to be part of sustainable consumption. We have chosen not to use fleece in our products by two reasons: To minimize plastic particles shredding and to eliminate the risk of static electricity which often occurs when horses have their coats trimmed.
