We manufacture EquoIQ transitional blanket 50 g to last a long time and withstand many seasons in the pasture. That’s why we develop and design our blankets to suit all horse types – from noble individuals to large, rough horses.
Thanks to this, you can optimally adapt the blanket to each horse, regardless of whether it has a narrow shoulder or large, long and wide shoulder blades.
The three D-rings, spaced 7 cm apart on each side, allow for a huge amount of individual adjustment. This way, you can easily adjust the front section to your horse’s unique shoulder width. In total, you can adjust the circumference around the shoulder by almost 30 cm. Plus, you can take the blanket off and on in no time, as we have placed the shoulder section buckles on the side.
Our rugs are more often being recommended by veterinary’s, osteopaths, masseurs and other people working with healthcare of horses thanks to the anatomical design and the great freedom of movement that the horse gets when using our blankets.
Our blankets can be adjusted to fit each horse individually thanks to the three D-rings spaced 7 cm apart on each side of the horse. The blanket is also easy to put on and take off because the blanket’s buckles are located on the side. The total circumference to adjust around the shoulder is almost 30 cm, which is a lot.
In fact, veterinarians, equitherapists, equiopaths, osteopaths and masseurs are increasingly recommending our blankets. They particularly praise the anatomical design that gives the horse maximum freedom of movement.
How to choose the right size:
Remember that the length of the back determines which size you need.
First measure the horse’s back from just in front of the withers to just above the base of the tail.
Follow the line of the back carefully with the measuring tape.
Then choose the size based on this measurement.
Example: If you measure 136 cm, choose size 135.
Guidelines to choose the correct size:
Size 75/85 is for mini shettis
Size 95/105 is for Shetland ponies
Size 115 is for B ponies
Size 125 is for C ponies
Size 135 is for D-pony or small horse
Size 145 is for horses up to 170 cm in height at the withers
Size 155 is for horses approx. 170-180 cm in height at the withers
Size 165 is for horses over 180 cm in height at the withers
Adjust the blanket correctly:
Remember not to tighten the blanket too tightly, as this can cause unnecessary pressure on the withers.
Instead, leave about a hand’s width between the blanket and the chest when tightening it.
The blanket should look a little loose when you put it on. Also make sure it does not tighten when the horse lowers its head.
All of our blankets have a withers protector attachment.
How warm a blanket should I choose?
Horses can tolerate the cold much better than humans, although their needs vary. In fact, a blanket that is too warm will often do more harm than one that is a little cooler. So if you are hesitating between two thicknesses, choose the thinner option.
Environment and sustainability:
We care about the environment and actively push for sustainable consumption. For this reason, we have chosen not to use fleece in our blankets to stop the emission of plastic particles. Another advantage is that you avoid static electricity on clipped horses, which otherwise creates unpleasant shocks when the horse moves.
Care for your rug:
If you take care of your new EquoIQ blanket, you will get protection that surpasses most on the market. Make sure to maintain the blanket’s waterproofness by impregnating it as soon as the fabric starts to absorb moisture. The water droplets should simply bounce off and run off.
To protect nature from impregnation agents, we first recommend that you rinse off dirt with lukewarm water and a soft brush. You can of course wash the blanket in a machine, but we still recommend hand washing for the sake of the environment. Don’t forget to always impregnate with an environmentally friendly agent after washing.
Wash outdoor rugs at a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius to maintain the impregnation.
